Transformers Music Label Ravage (KO 4 GB version) has arrived!

Finally, I mustered up the courage to check my mailbox, and there was a Canada Post slip, informing me that a parcel was waiting for me at the Post Office.  On my way to work, I dropped by the Post Office and picked it up.   Unlike the Takara version, it does not come in a fancy box, or bubble packaging, instead it comes in a clear white container .

Unlike the traditional USB memory sticks, Ravage is almost twice the width and a quarter longer.  Even from its ‘disguised’ appearance, it is very obvious that it is some sort of Transformer toy.  All the leg joints have small screws in them.  The plastic quality is pretty much on par with regular Transformer toys, making it worth showing off to your friends without them saying, “Hey, how much did you pay for that knock-off Transformer?  It looks cheap!”  And that’s something you don’t want your friends to say.

Transformation is fairly simple, but I’ve got it plugged into the computer right now, so I can’t go through the steps with you.  What I can tell you is that the transformation is the same as the Takara original, and the bottom jaw does open and has the top and bottom fangs.   The only problem I had with transforming it was the hind legs, when they are swung out they have to be folded down to the sides.  Great care must be taken when folding down the legs as the swivel joint does not appear to be sturdy enough to withstand the tight pressure.  The paint quality is excellent, from the Decepticon logo to Ravage’s eyes.

I have read about the deceptive practices of eBay sellers who sell 8 GB MP3 players which could realistically only hold about 2GB  of data.  So, I decided to put my Device Label Ravage to the test.  Windows XP was able to recognize it as a memory device, like a data storage unit.  Sure enough, I was relieved when it displayed the properties status of4 GB with 3.7 GB actually available.  Just to make sure that it will store that amount of data, I am copying over the first season (minus three episodes for space limitations) of Gundam 00 fansubed by Mendoi.  Right now the data is still being transfered over.  I will post the results in my next blog…

See you later…
