When doing my research on FZL kids in China yesterday (click here if you missed the post), I noticed that in many of the pictures of FZL kids, their eyes were freakishly big. How is it possible, I thought to myself, that ALL these kids have such enormous eyes?

Turns out that it is all the rage to have big anime-like eyes… and this can be achieved though contact lenses that are heavily tinted beyond the normal rim of your eye to create the appearance of bigger eyes. Chinese teens are now able to choose from a variety of different colours (to match their outfits!). Even an all-black eye is popular, as it makes the wearer look like a doll (sort of like the girl above, I suppose. Is it just me, or do you find her a bit creepy too?)
